Our PTA Board Members:
President - Melissa Daniel

I am a Baldy mama bear of 1 (Leia Gomez: 1st) and Aunt of 2 (Kash Daniel: 1st & Ryder Daniel: 4th).

I have been a proud resident of Mt. Baldy village since 2007. I'm passionate about music, art & nature, and I crunch numbers all day long as an Accounting Specialist for DuroMax / MaxTool.

I have worked closely with the PTA Board throughout my prior 2 years at MBS as a PTA member and became increasingly involved.

In doing so, I realized just how powerful this organization is for our students, school and community alike, & therefore made the choice to join the board as President for the 2024-2025 school year. 

I am blessed with an amazing team of like-minded, supportive mothers and we are so excited to make this year a great one for our tiny,  amazing school!

Treasurer - Erica Flexen

We’ve been a proud part of the Baldy family since 2018 and I am so excited to be supporting the school community this year in my role as PTA treasurer. I am mom to two Baldy bears, Ava (4th) and Thomas (6th), a recent proud graduate, Liam (9th), and future Baldy Bear, Vera. When I’m not frantically trying to cart kids to school, dance classes, violin lessons, and cooking class, I enjoy traveling with my family, visiting museums and exploring the Arcadia Arboretum.  

Secretary - Hafsa Mowjood

Hello Mt Baldy Family! 

It’s been a wonderful past 7 years with this phenomenal mountain community. Being mom to a proud alumni and current third grader is a telling testament. Having taken a longer than anticipated hiatus from practicing Law and teaching classical piano, volunteering my time on and off campus has been gratifying to say the least. 

I also enjoy hiking, biking and reading. We are a family of bookworms and love traveling and savoring different cuisines and cultures. This school year, I look forward to bringing some mom power to our collective endeavor in enhancing our children’s, staff and parents MBS experience. 

VP of Fundraising - Jayme Rios

I have 4 Baldy bears now attending our beautiful school. I enjoy baking, reading and a good movie. 

My message to fellow parents is that we all play a significant role in making this school the gem that it is. The Mt. Baldy school and community not only educates our children, but also uplifts and encourages each of our Bears to grow into their full potential. I’m a member of the PTA to help grow the community that embraced us and our children. I look forward to serving alongside you all to make this a great year. 

VP of Communications - Norma Avalos

I am a mama to 3 kids, one of whom is Javier Avalos and is currently a 2nd grader. Aside from being a mom, I love to cook, I love to read (ask me what books I’m currently reading), I dabble in photography and love the outdoors. Our family loves to hike and camp. You can find us visiting a national park, chasing waterfalls or going on very long road trips during our travels. We’re so happy to be part of this community that fits so well in our family dynamic. 

This year I decided to join the PTA. I’m excited to say that the women who make up the PTA have such love for our students and envision great things for our school community. I hope to build upon the foundation that the previous boards created and continue to make this school amazing and magical for all our children. 

Financial Reviewer - Liz Flores

I'm a mom of three Baldy Bears and an alumna of MBS. This year, I'm also the Instructional Coach and teaching Math & Science in the Fox classroom. I appreciate the community of MBS and how supportive the PTA is of field trips, Creek Freak Week, and outdoor education support.

Mt Baldy's PTA purpose is to support opportunities for whole-school events, increase student engagement and foster parental involvement.

The Parent-Teacher-Association (PTA) helps the school in many ways, especially by raising money for school trips and classroom activities. The PTA meets every other month at the school and encourages everyone to attend. Members are elected at the March association meeting.  All are welcome to join us and contribute.
